Daisy’s Dock

About

The Blog

Named for the famed landmark in The Great Gatsby, Daisy’s Dock is a collection of information aimed at a twentysomething demographic who are not yet past their careless college days, but ready to carve out successful careers nonetheless. Good thing our journeys toward the green light won’t be so tragic.

The Author

Katie Perry not to be confused with the girl-kissing pop star of the same moniker is a Springsteen loving, iced coffee guzzling, marathon running graduate of the University of Notre Dame. Someday soon she hopes to land a career in public relations or communications and move to Queens so she can be a little more like Vincent Chase and a little less like Johnny Drama. Entourage anyone? In the summer of 2007 Katie served a full-time PR internship at a boutique agency in New York. During her undergraduate studies at Notre Dame, she served as an Assistant News Editor for the daily student newspaper and held a part-time position as a marketing and communications assistant for the Alumni Association. This spring Katie completed a media relations internship at Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame, Ind.

Of equal importance, Katie has one dimple, an insatiable addiction to facebook, and absolutely no shame. She despises cold weather, waiting, night-driving, and Taylor Swift’s immovable side-swept bangs. (Seriously, do a Google image search they don’t budge.) It’s hard to go wrong with a best friend whose name rhymes with “pizza” (What up, Nitza?). And if having a posthumous crush on Jimmy Stewart is a crime, she doesn’t want to be right. While wallowing in career purgatory, Katie aims to fight complete cranial atrophy by learning something interesting or useful each day. She looks forward to sharing these obviously mind-blowing discoveries with you.
